What is an "OD Protection Temp Hold"?

Overdraft Protection Temporary Holds are temporary holds on available funds in a protector account (such as a savings account setup for overdraft protection) to cover an overdraft on the protected account (such as a checking account) to which it is linked. This hold type will stay on the account for the amount of the overdraft until the transaction posts (clears) or sufficient funds are deposited in the linked account to cover the transaction.

The letters OD in OD Protection Temp Hold refer to overdraft.
